“You Were Light” is a one-of-a-kind multimedia planetarium show that explores who we are, where we came from and what we’re here for, taking us through the history of the Universe and the creation of the elements that make us. Combining science and inspiration with live music and stunning visuals, “You Were Light” joins beautiful images of faraway galaxies, nebulas and interstellar processes with narration by astronomer and high-redshift galaxy expert Dr. Kevin Hainline, interspersed with new original music written and performed by award-winning Tucson songwriter Lara Ruggles. The result is an awe-inspiring celestial journey.

“You Were Light” debuted on July 24, 2025 at Flandrau Planetarium on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson to a sold-out crowd (120 tickets).
